Valentine's "Crack"

RECIPE DESCRIPTION:

Indulge in a festive, fun, and irresistibly delicious treat with Valentine’s “Crack”— a sweet and salty combination of crispy sourdough rye thins, buttery caramel, and luscious white chocolate swirled with strawberry fruit spread and pink candy melts. Topped with heart-shaped marshmallows and sprinkles, this easy-to-make dessert is the perfect way to share the love!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 18 Finn Crisp sourdough rye thins
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 lb almond bark/white chocolate
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 1/2 cups pink candy melts
  • Buddy Fruits Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread
  • Assorted Valentine’s sprinkles
  • Heart-shaped marshmallows

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Prepare the Base
    Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Lay 18 Finn Crisp sourdough rye thins directly on the pan and set aside.
  2. Make the Caramel Base
    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together until the mixture is melted and bubbling (approximately 10 minutes).
  3. Assemble and Bake
    Pour the caramel over the cracker base and spread it evenly with a spatula. Bake in the oven at 325°F for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Melt the Toppings
    While the caramel layer is baking, melt the almond bark/white chocolate with the coconut oil in one bowl, and the pink candy melts in another. Use either the stove or microwave to melt the toppings.
  5. Layer the Toppings
    Once the base is ready, pour the white chocolate mixture over it and spread evenly with a spatula.
  6. Add and Swirl
    Add small circles of Buddy Fruits Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread on top of the white chocolate, varying the sizes. Repeat with the pink candy melts. Using a chopstick, swirl the fruit spread and candy melts into the white chocolate to create a marbled effect.
  7. Decorate
    Add sprinkles and heart-shaped marshmallows on top as desired. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until the base is fully set.
  8. Break and Serve
    Once set, break the Valentine’s Crack into smaller, bite-sized shards using your hands or a knife. Arrange on a platter or in a bowl, and enjoy this fun, sweet treat!
